Leaves of Morya's Garden - Book 1 - The Call (1924) - 335:
Nay, we must reach our goal. Twilight already has enveloped the farthest mountain And the nightingale has sung its song in the nearest forest. We must press on.

Leaves of Morya's Garden - Book 2 - Illumination (1925) - 3.5.13:
The servitors of distorted religions encourage their wards in the purchase of places in the cemetery, where through their advance arrangements they will lie more advantageously and honorably than others more indigent and hence undeserving of lengthy prayers. The incense for these poor ones will be adulterated and the prayers abominably sung.

New Era Community (1926) - 123:
Friends, matter is not manure but a substance radiant with possibilities. The want of humanity is because of its despising of matter. Sumptuous assembly halls have been built, but hymns to knowledge have not been sung.

Supermundane - The Inner Life - Book 1 (1938) - 42:
The heart's feeling is sensed not in the words themselves but in their sound. There can be no irritation in harmony. Malice cannot exist where the spirit ascends. It is not by chance that in antiquity the epic scriptures were sung, not only to facilitate memorizing but also for inspiration. Likewise, it is rhythm and harmony that protect us against fatigue.

Supermundane - The Inner Life - Book 2 (1938) - 320:
Is not the serenity that is derived from harmonious sounds within the grasp of all? But someone first had to discover ways of attaining peace through music. While many songs were sung in ancient times, it was considered necessary to point out their ability to evoke peace of mind. In this way a new harmony was introduced into the world.

Supermundane - The Inner Life - Book 2 (1938) - 322:
Songs are sung in churches about human goodness, while just outside the begging hand is ignored, and no one shows interest or asks for the cause of the beggar's misery, or offers to ease his suffering.
